Explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, 9 Injured
2 min readIn a concerning incident, an explosion occurred at the popular Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Brookefield area, leaving at least nine people injured. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that the explosion was a bomb blast. According to CCTV footage, a man was seen placing a bag inside the cafe before the incident.
Preliminary reports indicate that an object inside the bag exploded around 1 pm, resulting in the emergence of black smoke in and around the cafe. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the explosive used was not heavy but improvised. The individual who left the bag inside the cafe also took a token from the cash counter, raising suspicions about their intentions. The cashier is currently being questioned.
Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the victims, which include three staff members and one customer, are not critical. The Chief Minister assured that their conditions are stable. In order to determine the cause of the explosion, samples are being collected from the blast site for analysis.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who visited the cafe, reported that the owner informed him that the blast occurred due to a bag left behind by a customer. Surya expressed his belief that it is a clear case of a bomb blast.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident to gather more information and identify those responsible for this alarming event. The safety and security of the public remain a top priority, and measures are being taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
