BJP Announces Sixth List of Candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2024
1 min readThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently announced its sixth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. This list includes three new names, replacing all incumbent MPs in the respective constituencies.
One of the significant changes is the replacement of Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in the Inner Manipur constituency. Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, an incumbent minister in the Manipur government, will now contest from this constituency.
In Rajasthan, Indu Devi Jatav and Kanhaiya Lal Meena have been nominated for the Karauli-Dholpur and Dausa constituencies, respectively. This decision has resulted in the ousting of sitting MPs Manoj Rajoria and Jaskaur Meena.
With this latest announcement, the BJP has now finalized candidates for 401 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. The party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) has been actively working towards preparing for the upcoming polls.
It is worth mentioning that the previous list of candidates released by the BJP included 111 names, which saw the exclusion of Union Ministers Ashwini Kumar Choubey and VK Singh, as well as MP Varun Gandhi. Surprisingly, the party has nominated actors Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil as candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Notable candidates from the BJP include Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who will contest from Sambalpur, and party spokesperson Sambit Patra, who will vie for re-election from Puri.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, the BJP continues to make strategic decisions in its candidate selection process, aiming to secure a strong position in the parliament.
